Steve Pruitt

Steve Pruitt is an owner and investor of Black News Channel. He is a senior partner at the Watts Consulting Group. As senior partner, Steve provides public relations and governmental advocacy for clients of the Watts Consulting Group. He helps direct the firm’s representation of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), cities and municipalities, large and small corporations, and athletic and other non-profit coalitions. In addition to serving as senior partner to the Watts Consulting Group, Steve is currently the president and CEO of the Pruitt Group, Ltd., a public relations and governmental advocacy consulting firm that specializes in trade, appropriations, information technology, and grassroots lobbying activities.

During Steve’s distinguished professional career, he served as executive vice president for operations of the United Negro College Fund (UNCF) where his responsibilities included management of UNCF’s information technology services, administrative services, human resources, government affairs, and communications departments. He also served as executive director of the Committee on the Budget of the United States House of Representatives and as a senior legislative and political advisor to Congressman William H. Gray, III, the former majority whip of the United States House of Representatives and chair of the House Committee on the Budget.

Steve holds both graduate and undergraduate degrees from Ohio State University.
